Photoshoot: Exelica (1/8 Scale by Alter)

Yay, I managed to keep a date! *feels accomplished*

This week’s photoshoot (hoping to do one every Sunday now if you didn’t read the last post) is Exelica from the awesome shmup Triggerheart Exelica.

Exelica is simply stunning. Really. She’s worth every penny you pay for her. Alter done good… real good!

I didn’t include the two accessory pieces she comes with since I was having a hard time getting a clear picture of them without glare. >_>. Exelica combined with the two accessory pieces = half of a shelf. And it’s only 1/8 scale, too!

No review this time, just enjoy the pictures.

lol at empty promises.. redemption imminent?

Yes, I promised that there would be an Exelica photoshoot posted.

No, I can’t post it up yet.

>.<.

The beast known as real life has struck again. Lots of things to do + school starting in two weeks does not bode well for photoshoots.

So there’s no photoshoot in this post. Just a reminder that no, I haven’t forgotten about this site.

Thanks for all those who sent e-mails (though I’d wish you’d leave comments instead so this place doesn’t look like a ghost town) and all I can say is wait, and hopefully you’ll see something soon.

And my new goal? Once a week. Yes. Really. Sunday’s the day I’m aiming for since it’s the only day where real life takes a hike and I can do the things I actually want to do. Wish me luck.

P.S ETA for Exelica photoshoot? Tomorrow if all goes well. No promises, though.

Update!

So I finally made my own banner for Figure Minded! No more generic WordPress header! Woo!

If you’re wondering where the picture on the header is from, it’s from my Exelica photoshoot, which should be uploaded sometime next week (may be even earlier depending on how much time I got). Exelica’s a character from the Dreamcast schump Trigger Heart Exelica (which is all kinds of awesome by the way). There’s also an XBox Live port if you have a 360.

In other news, I did a banner exchange with E2046.com, which explains why there’s a banner advertising their site on my sidebar. It’s a really great site with tons of information about figurines and it’s a great place to buy figurines too. A good deal of my friends bought figurines from them and I’ve heard nothing but good things from them. If you haven’t checked out their site yet, I highly implore you to do so! And no, this is not just shameless advertising – the site’s that good. ^_^.

Photoshoot: Feena fam Earthlight (1/6 Scale by Atelier Sai)

Wow, it’s been a while since I did one of these… it’s still Monday where I live, so I guess I lived up to my promise after all. ^.^.

So this time I’m doing a figurine of Feena fam Earthlight. This is my first time buying a 1/6 scale figurine. I usually try to stray away from buying 1/6 figurines, but I could only find Feena in 1/6 at Fanime, so I had to make do, I guess. Hard to believe that this figurine came out in 2006 – I should probably be picking up some newer figurines.

Hope you enjoy the pics and hit the jump for the rest of them.

Workin’ hard!

Yeah, I’m totally working hard and not slacking off taking random pictures of my figurines. >_>.

Anyways.. work is hard. Who would’ve guessed? I’m just lucky that I get to see Haruhi every single day. ^_^. … I just realized that was extremely lame. Well, enough of me making a post on my blog about absolutely nothing like I’m somebody important. Got to get back to work!

No, I’m not dead.

Apologies for those who visit my site.. I know it’s been a while since the last update, but the dreaded thing known as real life has taken over for the past month or so.

This is just to say, “No, I haven’t given up doing photoshoots.”, and that right now I’m a bit preoccupied right now so I don’t exactly have the time to do photoshoots (yeah, some excuse, I know.) But I’m coming back – the Feena photoshoot will be up by next Monday! I promise! ^_^.

So that’s pretty much all I have to say and a special thanks to those who’ve sent me e-mails asking about my photoshoots.

Etrian Odyssey II – The Obsession Begins

So I got Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard today… and I just spent the last half hour experimenting with classes and whatnot.

So now I finally have my main party:

Guild: Tsubaki

Protector (Eva), Ronin (Raiden) <— Front Line

Gunner (Zero), Medic (Chime) , Alchemist (Aram) <— Back Line

At first, I was tempted to put Gunner in the front line (’cause he has a gun, lol) but then I started looking at his skills and realized that a good deal of his skills basically increases the damage he takes by a lot.

I managed to have some time to screw around with the new classes, so here’s some of my thoughts on them.

War Magus – It’s alright so far I guess. The thing I noticed about War Magus is that some of his sword skills require you to have some sort of status ailment on the monster already. Meaning, you need a Hexer or Dark Hunter to use War Magus’s offensive skills effectively. I’m debating with myself if I should create a party dedicated to making those ailments possible (since every class has at least one skill that can) so that War Magus can do his thing with the sword skills and then just have him focus on healing after… this seems like a class that would be great once you hit past the Level 40 mark.

Gunner – I thought Gunners would make a great frontline class, but I guess I was wrong. Since the gunner’s skills pretty much make it so that he can take massive damage as a result, it’s almost worthless to put him in the front. Otherwise, he’s a pretty ordinary class. I’ve only managed to use a few of his gun skills so far (one for each of the three elements), and they’re nothing special. I did some research and found out that he had an OOC ability that can stop movements of FOEs for a set number of turns (oooh. can’t wait to use that.)

Beast – Can’t really say much about them since I haven’t unlocked the class yet. >.>

Well, that’s enough of me talking. It’s time for me to get back to playing.

Photoshoot: Medic by Wave Corporation

Adventurer’s Log

Today was my first day in the labyrinth of Etria. It was a rather.. unique experience to say. Where else can you find things like killer butterflies and moles? My party was almost wiped out by a group of three renegade butterflies today, but thanks to my healing power, we were able to defeat them! I love the members of my guild – Haruhi, the ever vigilant Protector; Itsuki, the dashing Landsknecht; quiet Yuki, our Alchemist, and who can forget our Dark Hunter, Kyon and his humorous attempts at cynicism?

I’m really excited to find out the mysteries of the labyrinth… hopefully this won’t be my last log. ^.^.

Tomorrow, we’re due out to help the weapons shop dealer find some supplies so that she can make some new weapons for us! There’s so much more I want to say, but I’ll leave it at this for tonight. Hopefully I have some time to write in this tomorrow.

Mikuru

Medic of SOS-Dan

Hopefully you enjoyed my crappy writing skills, and let’s move onto the main reason you’re here.

Since Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard is coming out THIS TUESDAY today or tomorrow depending on which GameStop you go to (hinthint), what better way to celebrate than having a photoshoot of the only EO figurine I have?

Photoshoot: Nijihara Ink (1/8 Scale by Kotobukiya)

Second photoshoot down the hatch and since summer’s coming up for me, I may start doing photoshoots more often instead of only once a week like I’m doing now.

Favorite English sentences from the Moetan books?
When I fell in love with the her, I thought that the girl was my stepsister. I bet if I had known she was my real sister, I would not have fallen in love with her.

The characters should be composed of childhood friends, girls with glasses, robotic maids and sisters.

I love how one of the incentives to buy the Moetan books was so that you would be able to get into college.. too bad those sentences would never work for the UC Admissions process. >.>.

So if you haven’t read the title already, this week’s photoshoot will be Nijihara Ink from Moetan, a series of English learning books popular in Japan. It teaches you English through examples from anime and computer games. It’s a fun read if you’re well versed in English, as there’s so many sentences that just don’t make much sense in English. So why am I taking pictures of Nijihara Ink and not Pastel Ink? Because “She is the moeest of lovely English teacher in the world!” ^_^
